Fanclub ♥ Choreography in Action

Fanclub has been invited to be part of Choreography in Action, hosted by Dansehallerne at Kunsthall Charlottenborg in Copenhagen, 30 Oct 2017 at 7-9pm

What vocabulary belongs to the dancer and how can she as a figure make us think, move, act..? During a two year long, disseminated process called We Are Dancers, Fanclub has collected a wide range of materials related to the figure of the dancer – applying these in artistic and non-artistic situations with the desire to explore other grounds and potentialities. At Charlottenborg Fanclub will perform a self-interview based on the materials and methods from this process, where the dancer, the collective and structures of work and everyday life will be central.

Hope to see you there!

We Are Dancers – a Concert

FOOT: irregularities, adapting, working with, dealing with, the perception of the foot, zooming in on the foot, anatomy of the foot, tiredness of the foot, foot in pain, steps, walking, skipping, running, jumping, turning, pointing, tripping, dragging, revisit. A means of meeting. The reciprocity of foot and ground (see GROUND).

Together with guesting artists DD Dorvillier and Paula Caspão, as well as POWDER and August Rosenbaum, Fanclub invite you to Koncertkirken in Copenhagen, to two evenings of (inter)play, movement, words and sounds. Welcome!

WOWOWOW residency

We’ve just returned after an amazing week together with Quim Bigas at L’animal a L’esquena in Spain. A second initial working period of WOWOWOW – a collaboration with and around collectivity. The following are some WOrds and WOrlds from the WOrk …

Collective as a place where outcome is based on negotiation, conflict, listening and misunderstandings. Sense of value as a mode where movement comes from.

A mode of thinking through action – as an ongoing feeding between the modes (action/thinking >< action-thinking >< thinking-action) – allowing us to include an ongoing documentation/tracing of the research, while we work. What format(s) could be appropriate?

Conversation as a mode of thinking out loud, sharing your statements in the now, as a mode of creating source for movement… Conversation as a going around together, circling and wondering on certain topics, being in the not knowing and on the impossibility of agreements, being in a constant becoming, a constant reflection….Constant construction. The sharing of unknowing.

What if collective is a set of images that appear and disappear, of statements that are ephemeral, of a radical mode of being in a structure through the lenses of being present and in relation…?

The body of WOWOWOW has multiple eyes, ears and mouths. We can be shape shifters.

Big thanks to the L’animal crew for having us – such a special place!

Now – VACATION MODE!
Take care out there
