DEATHcrew – Richard van Kruysdijk

DEATH - Itamar, Richard & NathalieRichard is the composer for Itamar Serussi’s part of the double bill DEATH, and we’ve just had the pleasure to have him in town for a week, adding an extra edge to our rehearsals.

Richard is based in the Netherlands where he works as a composer, dj and producer. He’s been creating music for dance since 2010, and have developed a close and intuitive collaboration with Itamar where music and movement grow side by side in the studio – Richard’s adventourus electronica entwining perfectly with Itamars curious choreography.

A peaceful residency with lots of space

Fanclub has just returned from a mini residency in an amazing house, situated on a hill on the beautiful Danish island of Samsø. Together with the video artist Anna Maria Helgadottir we spent three days recording video for future projects, including material for a new music video for the danish artist Jomi Massage…

The house is called Dansebjerg and it comes complete with several generous bedrooms, an open fire place, a stunning view and a big dance studio! It’s a rare opportunity in Denmark – a space for creativity and peace and a free zone from the everyday noise that tends to take over. We highly recommend to check it out!

Three fantastic dance films by Fanclub’s own Klara Elenius 

The Fanclub member Klara has taken a leave of absence in order to take a master in “New Performative Practices” at DOCH in Stockholm. We miss her like crazy but think she’s the coolest. A small comfort is Screen Moves’ showing of her dance films –
Mänskligt Mönster, Insyn and Gå tillbaka. We encourage you to go see it. It’s for free and you will walk away with a secret smile on your lips…

This is a shout out to all the dance lovers in Copenhagen

Los Angeles based Ryan Heffington is one of the coolest dancer, performer, choreographer and teacher that we know and in November he is coming to town!
During one weekend he will spread his sunny, magic LA-vibes, inviting all the dance lovers out there – amateurs, pro’s, street dancers, musical artists, contemporary performers, disco cats, young, old, curios and funky peeps – to come and share the love for dance. Ryan will make us move, sweat and shake out our inner divas to the best music ever.
