DEATHcrew – Richard van Kruysdijk

DEATH - Itamar, Richard & NathalieRichard is the composer for Itamar Serussi’s part of the double bill DEATH, and we’ve just had the pleasure to have him in town for a week, adding an extra edge to our rehearsals.

Richard is based in the Netherlands where he works as a composer, dj and producer. He’s been creating music for dance since 2010, and have developed a close and intuitive collaboration with Itamar where music and movement grow side by side in the studio – Richard’s adventourus electronica entwining perfectly with Itamars curious choreography.

And it has begun!

The rehearsals for our upcoming double bill DEATH are in full swing and we’re super excited to be in the studio – dancing, trancing, trying, crying, breathing, swinging, singing, giggling, walking, talking, writing, sweating – with the best DEATHcrew in the world! Lucky us.

We’ve made a small video interview with the choreographers that we would like to share with you… Enjoy and stay tuned for more DEATHinfo – less than 10 weeks until premiere.

A peaceful residency with lots of space

Fanclub has just returned from a mini residency in an amazing house, situated on a hill on the beautiful Danish island of Samsø. Together with the video artist Anna Maria Helgadottir we spent three days recording video for future projects, including material for a new music video for the danish artist Jomi Massage…

The house is called Dansebjerg and it comes complete with several generous bedrooms, an open fire place, a stunning view and a big dance studio! It’s a rare opportunity in Denmark – a space for creativity and peace and a free zone from the everyday noise that tends to take over. We highly recommend to check it out!

Yet another award!

Our visit at Stockholm Fringe Festival in August was a great experience and we just recieved some really good news – GONE HOME by Dorte Olesen won the STOFF award for Best Stage Act 2013.

The jury’s motivation:
For a captivating and innovative piece of performance that managed to challenge, question and entertain its audience whilst representing another side to dance practice that we were deeply impressed by.

Big thanks to the STOFFcrew, GONE HOMEcrew and to all the fans of Fanclub out there.
We are really proud and happy.
